Liverpool receive another ‘huge offer’ for Salah next summer

Liverpool is expected to receive another huge offer for Mohamed Salah.

British media outlet ‘Daily Mail’ reported on June 16 (KST), “The Saudi Arabian professional league will make another move for Mohamed Salah this summer. He remains a top target despite Al Ittihad’s £200 million ($331.5 million) bid being rejected. They will make a new attempt,” the report said.

Salah has been strongly linked to the Saudi Pro League since the last transfer window. “The Saudi Pro League is already targeting more high-profile signings next year, including Kevin De Bruyne and Salah,” the UK’s Mirror reported in August.

“This is just the beginning,” an unnamed executive in the Saudi Pro League told the Mirror. The league’s budget is astronomical and there is already interest from major English players in moving here,” adding, “I can guarantee more top players will arrive next year.

At the time, Sky Sports chief reporter Kabe Solhekol said: “It’s been a long time coming that Al Ittihad want Salah. But for Liverpool, Salah is not for sale. His re-signing last year is proof of that. But the Saudi club will pull out all the stops to keep Salah.”

Middle Eastern media also reported on the possible transfer. ‘Al Jazeera’ reported that “Salah has signed for Al Ittihad. He would have been tempted by an astronomical salary, but Liverpool and Al Ittihad have yet to agree on a deal. If Salah does head to Saudi Arabia, it would be a major coup for the Saudi professional league.”

While Salah’s move to Saudi Arabia seemed to be materializing, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp himself dismissed the speculation. “Al Ittihad? There was no offer, and Salah is an essential player for everything we do,” Klopp said in response to the transfer speculation.

“If there is something, the answer is no. Salah is 100% committed to Liverpool. There is nothing to say because he is our player.”

And so Salah stayed at Liverpool. He’s 31 years old and still going strong. He has 14 goals and eight assists in 22 games this season. He is currently second in the English Premier League (PL) with 11 goals.

According to the Daily Mail, “The Saudi professional league will try again to sign Salah next summer. Al Ittihad stunned Anfield (Liverpool’s home stadium) with a £200m bid in the closing stages of last summer’s transfer window.”

“We plan to be more strategic in our attempts to sign the Egyptian superstar. The Saudi 토토 professional league invested £750 million ($1,243 million) in new players during the last transfer window. Spending is likely to slow next year, but Salah is an exception.”

Saudi teams are particularly obsessed with Salah. According to soccer media outlet 90min, the Saudis want Salah because he is a “Muslim star. According to the outlet, the Saudi professional league wants big-name Muslim stars to play in Saudi Arabia.
